My materials

I work exclusively with vegetable-tanned leather, a naturally processed material tanned with plant-based tanning agents instead of chemicals. This traditional method produces leather that ages beautifully, developing a rich, personal patina over time. It is durable, skin-friendly, and retains the full character of the hide.

Badalassi Carlo

High-quality recycled yarn

I sew my products with Serafil recycled thread made from 100% recycled polyester. It's durable, robust, and perfectly complements the longevity and sustainability of my vegetable-tanned leather. The thread has a subtle sheen and excellent seam strength, making the seams as beautiful as they are reliable. It's certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, meaning it's free of harmful substances and gentle on both the material and the manufacturer. Each color is carefully selected to harmonize with the natural tones of my leather, ensuring that every stitch appears deliberate and meticulously placed.

Zippers made in Germany

For my bags I use zippers from Heiligenstädter Reißververschlusse, a traditional manufacturer from Thuringia whose craftsmanship dates back to the 19th century.
Each zipper is made in Germany with meticulous attention to detail, from the metal teeth to the sliders. What I love about these zippers is their smooth operation and impressive durability. They are designed for everyday use without jamming or loosening, making them a perfect match for durable leather.
The company is also strongly committed to sustainability and local production, which aligns perfectly with my own values. By choosing these zippers, I can keep the entire product experience truly European: leather from Italy and Germany, craftsmanship from my workshop, and fittings manufactured right here in Germany.

Adhesives & Care Products

For every piece I create, I use German-made adhesives and care products that meet the same high quality standards as my other materials. I use water-based, solvent-free adhesives that are safer to use, more environmentally friendly, and perfectly suited for fine leather processing. These adhesives create clean, strong bonds without harsh chemicals, supporting both durability and sustainability. It's a small detail, but every effort contributes to creating a truly sustainable product.

Dekanol 117 : For large areas and greater flexibility

For my remaining parts

The rest of my materials, from buckles and rivets to fasteners, come from trusted suppliers in Germany, Italy, and Poland. I collaborate with various manufacturers and retailers to source all the necessary parts for my upcoming projects, while maintaining my philosophy of choosing local and sustainable options whenever possible. If you have any questions about a specific piece, I'd be happy to discuss them further if you contact me.

I have a question about your materials.

Local producers

I keep things as local as possible and supply chains short to make my products as sustainable as possible and to support local businesses.

Attention to detail

By producing all items in smaller batches, I can ensure that nothing is wasted and that each piece is made with the care and attention it deserves.

Responsibly produced

Sustainability is not a black and white issue, but with every decision I think about ways to minimize the ecological footprint of my products.
